Club Programs
Camp Fire USA Program Philosophy Five essential elements derived from the mission statement and core values drive every program we offer:
1. We are youth-centered. 2. We engage the entire family in fun and outcome-rich activities. 3. We are welcoming and inclusive. 4. We build youth and adult partnerships. 5. We provide service to others.
Clubs may be traditional or non-traditional in scope but both emphasize a broad spectrum of progressive skill-building and leadership development.
In Camp Fire clubs, youth meet with trained adult volunteers on a regular basis to have fun, make new friends, develop their self-esteem, encourage environmental awareness, express their creativities, learn about the future, learn citizenship and leadership skills in small groups while learning about their family and community. Boys and girls, older youth and adults share in this meaningful experience.

Discovery-6th, 7th and 8th grades
Youth in 6th, 7th and 8th grades may participate in the Discovery program or Teens in Action. In Discovery, Camp Fire USA youth explore their roles as members of families, schools, churches, neighborhoods, teams or other groups. In "Discover Yourself," youth explore who they are and who they want to be; they plan for the present and prepare for the future. In "Discovery Community, " youth have opportunities to learn how communities work and how, as individuals, they can affect change in their communities. Torch Bearer projects also provide youth opportunities to explore areas of interest specific to them or their clubs.

Horizon-9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades
The Horizon program is designed for youth in 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades. The Camp Fire USA Horizon program is different for each member. At this club level, teens are encouraged to participate in the activities as individual members or with other club members. In the Horizon club, teens are given the opportunities to create and build their own horizons, or their own futures. "Highlight" activities are designed to examine ideas, values, morals and experiences. Four "Reflection" projects provide focus for teens on self, choices and decisions, future goals and planning, and self-reliance skills. Teens typically begin working toward the Wohelo Award in Horizon Club. Youth of this age may also participate in the Teens in Action program
