About Camp Niwana
Camp Niwana provides quality swim activities each day for campers including
individual swim lessons, free swim every afternoon, and special evening swim
parties.
Campers will enjoy the thrill of outdoor cooking. Cookouts include everything
from roasting marshmallows and hot dogs, to Dutch oven cooking and foil
dinners. Each cabin group will cook out on "all camp cook out" night.

Special events during the week may include watermelon eating contests and
team relays, cabin skit night, theme dinners, or fun at the famous "Niwana
mud pit."  Council fire is a big tradition every Friday night.

From woodworking and leather punching to bead work and nature crafts, boys
and girls will enjoy a great variety of craft projects.

Youth may choose to participate in activities such as archery, outdoor living,
canoeing, drama, hiking, fishing, or "explore and discover."

Youth from diverse backgrounds develop important life skills through Camp
Fire camping. Socialization, problem-solving, and a committed appreciation for
the natural environment often result from the experience. Through a group
living experience, young people learn about themselves and others. Individual
character is built from friendships which exercise understanding, acceptance,
and trust. Campers have an opportunity to make personal decisions,
experience adventure, and have fun. They return home with increased
self-esteem, a greater sense of responsibility, and a greater sense of
independence.
Boys and girls may choose from a day camp session, a 4 day mini camp
session, a one week or a two week resident camp session.
Day camp is Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. during regular sessions.
Day campers participate in daytime camp activities, including swim lessons and
lunch.
